Celestial objects discovered by astronomers from Georgia ⭐️

1942 – Giorgi Tevzadze discovered two new comets, Tevzadze I and Tevzadze II (Whipple-Fedtke-Tevzadze 1942g).

1948 – Raisa Barthamia discovered a new star, N Ser 1948, in the Serpent constellation;

1958-1961 – Afriashvili discovered three new stars: Faris 1948, Msildosni 1960, and Gvelismpari 1961.

1960-1965 – M. Dolidze identified carbonaceous and H-emission stars.

1960-1970 – M. Dolidze discovered a cluster containing 49 stars. M. Dolidze and G. Jimsheleishvili jointly discovered 11 star clusters.

1960-2000 – Raisa Barthamia, N. Kalandadze, M. Metreveli, and St. Chargeishvili identified more than 800 peculiar stars.

1961 – S. Afriashvili discovered 17 planetary nebulae, 2 Wolf-Rayet stars, and 1 open cluster.
